Emma Franklin

Production Animal Veterinarian

Emma joined Anexa FVC at the Matamata clinic as a new graduate veterinarian in 2007, after emigrating to New Zealand from Ireland where she completed her veterinary qualification at University College Dublin. Emma works and partners predominately with dairy clients and has particular clinical interests including disease management, milk quality and minimising the impact of emerging antimicrobial resistance. She is also an accredited body condition scorer and, when not on farm doing clinical work, Emma contributes to the wider veterinary industry by sharing her knowledge presenting tutorials with Vet Students, undertaking farm staff training in-clinic and on-farm, participating in various discussion groups and rural events and more recently rolling out the GoodYarn rural mental health programme. Outside of work, life is kept interesting (and pretty busy!) with three young daughters, her husband and their two cats.
