COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update
Our priority is our people and our community. Anexa Vets are following the Ministry of Health COVID-19 guidelines and will inform you of any changes that may affect your veterinary service or the animals in your care.

Please help us, help you. If you are feeling unwell, especially if you have flu-like symptoms - do not enter our clinics, instead call ahead. This precaution will help reduce the spread of disease.

In clinic

If you are feeling unwell and you need to take your pet to the vet, or pick up the product, please either:
  • send someone else
  • reschedule
  • or wait in the car and call us. We will then bring the product out to you or come collect your pet to examine while you wait outside.
For well clients visiting our clinics, rest assured our vet clinics already follow high hygiene standards, and staff have been asked to wash their hands and wipe down surfaces frequently. If our staff are feeling unwell, they have been instructed to stay home.

If you or a family member are unwell, please call ahead and let us know. We can arrange to meet you and maintain a safe distance of at least 2m apart or see the animal separately and have a discussion over the phone. Our staff will continue to follow high biosecurity standards.

As of now, there is no evidence that pets can contract this disease from humans. However, it is theoretically possible that if you sneeze on your pet, that someone else touching your pet can get sick. Remember as always, when you are handling your pet it is important that you observe good hygiene practices. This includes hand washing (20 sec. with soap) after contact, avoiding face to face contact, and inhaling droplets due to sneezing and coughing.

Product supplies

We are continuing to work closely with our suppliers regarding the delivery and availability of products. A number of our suppliers manufacture products in New Zealand and others are advising there is currently an adequate safety or buffer stock held in New Zealand to support Vets over the next few months. Currently, all suppliers are advising that production is ongoing and there are no reported delivery delays. The situation with COVID-19 and ongoing restrictions is fluid but production, delivery and availability are all currently – “no change, business as usual”.

We are currently reviewing annual events. To date, we have made the decision to postpone puppy preschool and our hoof trimming and track walk demo day. Our client golf day at Hauraki Golf Club has also been postponed until later in the year. We ask you to continue to register if you are interested in attending an event, (in particular puppy preschool or farmer workshops) as we are working through what we can offer in this space.

Let’s work together to keep our rural communities well.
